Indian Canyon and Amado and Palm Desert Town Center, Monterey and San Gorgonio. 1-800-USA-RAIL (872-7245) actually is motor coach service to/from Amtrak's San Joaquin route in Bakersfield, and stops at Palm Springs International Airport.
Recent revisions to the Sunset's schedule make one day trips to Los Angeles possible. The daily service to/from Bakersfield allows for trips to northern and Central California without having to drive through Los Angeles
